Cubico: Learning to Code Through Play
Cubico is an educational game designed for Android that teaches coding through play. The app is developed by i-scream kids INC. and is available for free. Cubico aims to teach users important algorithm concepts and help them develop computer-based thinking.
The app has a three-step coding learning process where users plan their code on a stage board, design the code by placing coding blocks in the coding tray and check the coding results in the game animation in the Cubico app. Additionally, there is a 38-mission challenge stage where users can operate switches, speakers, and makers used in real life. This stage is a self-guided coding learning method that allows users to find out how to solve missions in various ways.
Cubico also has ten coding songs that include fun rhythms and funny coding songs that let users naturally learn coding terms. The app also features an AR function where users can make their own character hair change, clothes, ride items and enter directly into the stage board. The app requires access to location, camera, and file storage. However, users with Android OS version 6.0 or less may face issues as the individual consent of access authority is not supported.
